It just adds to the hype and: mystique, which adds "market value" top the company.
If it was discovered that they were doing the same thing that was done before, nothing new, nothing different, how would wall street react to that?

Right now there is a lot of "that was tried before, but lets see how it works "the Google way"
as they don't know what the Google way is.
