I would respectfully disagree with your last sentence. If IE relies on third party programs and shells to provide features that Firefox has internally, then by definition, Firefox has more features. If you wanted to count feature sets by third party contributions, then Firefox far outstrips IE, because of all the Firefox extensions and themes available.
