I use GAIM

I use GAIM, and had the exact same problem. But like you, I just deleted the bots. I don't like this, but I especially detest Yahoo's garbage, and Adobe Acrobat Reader; both coming with bandwidth clogging garbage. I just gave up on both, and use GAIM only, and Foxit! PDF reader. At 1.5megs it's much easier to DL, and use. It's also worked with every PDF file I've used in the last year.
