But they are in a better position than most with their desktop OS monopoly that is used to access the internet and the web. This is a precarious position too-if they don't push hard enough, they may lose, and if they push too hard, they risk anti-trust action against them. I expect we'll see a lot of lobbying and back room tactics out of them in this arena similar to the Massachusetts wrangling over the OpenDocument stuff. They didn't win there the way they wanted to, so they're getting other legislators who were too lazy and disinterested in the whole matter before to get involved with it. Now they suddenly act like they care and try to derail the decision that they should have been part of if they really cared before Microsoft didn't get its way.
