Seems to me the RIAA and its ilk are wielding the same power as M$. I agree that prices are outrageous--pay $15 to $20 for a CD with one or two decent songs? I (guess my age) remember just before CD's came out, I was paying $7 for an LP. The high price of CD's was justified because of recovering technical development costs, yak, yak. Well, stamping out CD's is no different than stamping out vinyl's, but the price hasn't come down, and you still need a stick of dynamite to get the damn case open.
Safest of the illegal activity is to develop an program to defeat anti-piracy schemes, get 4-5 friends to chip in for a CD, and rip off copies. I don't condone violating copyrights, but what's being put on CD's (&DVD's) just ain't worth the asking price.
