Not Just The Broadcast Flag
On top of the broadcast flag this would have required CGMS-A, VEIL, Digital Radio Copy Protection, Non-Copy protected devices and video can only display no more than 350,000 pixels", $500,000 fine if you sell analog-to-digital convertors not deemed "professional devices", and would have made the UPTO Office, instead of the Copyright Office, responsible for overseeing that these devices actually work.

The actual name of the hearing was: Oversight Hearing on "Content Protection in the Digital Age: The Broadcast Flag, High-Definition Radio, and the Analog Hole."

The term for a proffesional device is Unlike that Act, in the MPAA's new bill, "if a device is ... commonly purchased by persons other than [commercial copiers], then such device shall not be considered a 'professional device'". In other words they want to kill home and amature movie makers , especially since analog TV feeds will be going away in a few years and the last Analog feeds would be home cameras.

They also want to take away your right to pause, rewind, fast forward, or stop TV and Video recordings arguing that it has value that they want to sell to you.

This whole thing is NUTS!! Read the MPAA portion of the proposal haere http://www.eff.org/IP/Video/analog_hole_discussion_draft.pdf

The RIAA portion here http://www.publicknowledge.org/news/analysis/digital-radio-2pager
