Proof!
As I've said all along, the lawsuits against Google are not out of
fear of messing up the book publishing business model, or that
people would get access to book material online. It's all about the
book publishers getting paid for someone indexing their material,
and Random House's deal here proves it. They don't care that you
can see 4 or 5 pages for free (much more than Google was going to
show you), just so long as someone is paying them for the
privelege of indexing the book.
