I've been using 1.0x from the moment it was released and I've *never* had a problem with stability. I have versions ranging from 1.0 to 1.0.7 installed on probably 150 Win2k and WinXP machines and *none* of them have stability problems.

As for the extensions, you've got to remember that they aren't created by the same team that works on the browser - they're made by folks like you and me. As such, there's bound to be some problems with them from time to time - and I'm sure that they don't get the testing that the browser itself gets with thousands of users trying everything imaginable with every single extension...

I also find it a little funny that the extensions are the only reason you would use FF. There is so much more to the browser than the extensions. IE doesn't have any extensions - do you ask "why bother?" about it?
