If I were in control of Studio
I'd put up my on Bit Torrent site to distribute show with embedded ads. I've downloaded shows I've missed on Torrents. For the most part they are OK but many times I have to download two or three differnt torrents to get a quality one that isn't missing 5 minutes of the show when someone tried removing the comercials.

Now the advantage the studios would have here is they could do with less comercials in the show and offer a garanteed quality product. Since the shows could be downloaded again and again the comercial the reduced commercial spots could be resold again and again. Downloading Episode X of a show might have a comercials for on company and tomorow if someone downloaded it could be for another company. Old episodes of friend could generate more ad revenue for example.
