Reduce the Need to Read and Serve the Purpose of Reading
"More Access to More Information" through ?Digitizing More Books of More Libraries? will only smother a human information seeker and force him or her to act without reading.

The real and urgent need is for reducing what a human being has to read to take informed action. Information seeker needs appliances to refine, summarize, abstract information for action but not vast dumps of text. Even for students and researchers the need is not vast raw text (though the original text may be selectively studies for analysis).

Is every printed matter of equal value or use all human information seekers? If not, what is the priority of what is to be digitized?

Shall we examine the following to better deploy the available resources?

1. What to digitize when, for whom?
2. What use or value may be expected of step 1?
3. Matching of Information Fetched with the Scope and Precision of Query,
4. Authenticity and Reliability of the Fetched Information,
5. Charting of Realm of Concepts and Navigational Aids,
6.Safe Knowledge Appliances for users of different IQ?s,

and more?

Let?s discuss.
