- U.N. running the internet?
-
If you take a look at some of the programs that the U.N. has run and is running around the world you would see that they are not fit to run a koolaid stand.
U.N. security forces raping girls in Africa, countries like China, Cuba, Sudan as sitting members on the U.N.Human Rights Council, and the oil-for-food debacle.
Do you really want countries like China, Iran, Saudi Arabia and Cuba to have a vote on what is or is not allowed on the internet? In China you can be put in prison for speaking against the government in emails or blogs. Same in Iran. Same in Saudi Arabia. Same in Cuba.
And what is the fuss over not having a .xxx domain? Is there not enough pr0n on .com, .net, .org etc.? Would all pr0n be forced into the .xxx domain? Who would decide what belongs there?
There are some minor problems with the way the net is run today but to put it under U.N. control would be like using a shotgun to take a bad spot out of an apple.
Various U.N. agencies have proven time and again that they couldn't pour pi$$ out of a boot even if the instructions were on the bottom.
I believe that if control of the net is given to them it would be the end of the net as we know it. - Posted by: bony tryan Posted on: 10/19/05 You are currently: a Guest | Members login | Terms of Use
