This is indeed a tragedy
Yahoo is bowing down and accepting protocols from Microsoft. They realize what a power like Google is posing when pushing their IM powered by Linux.

This much like Palm's decision to carry Windows Mobile on their PDA is the sign of a company that has decided that they can not beat them, so they must join them. Much like Sun tried to last year.

I have already rigged to firewalls to start blocking all Yahoo Pager protocols at noon today.

My IBM Rep and I spent 20 hours last night setting up a group policy on all of the Windows Machines to prevent any users from trying to install Yahoo's Products, including their Toolbar.

Ofcourse after installing Opera and removing all signs of Internet Explorer from the PCs, the need for such petty toolbars has become nil.

Soon my boss and I will work in pushing a thin client roll-out to rid ourselves of those pesky GUIs.
