The US doesn't pretend to be the best
there is a lot of room for improvement and a number of failure points, but still, a darn good place to be born and live. It's not paved with streets of gold, nor should everybody and their backpack just strole in, and yet, its got about every culture living here.

I don't know where the rest of the world gets their commentary, but the citizens of each country have gripes and loves of their own territory, most commercial world news won't show each continents missteps along the way. The politicos and the comedians yours and ours will speak for themselves and power, they'd have you believe all Americans hate France, fears Nazism in Germany, use Luxomberg as a GNP statistic, believe Amsterdam is the drug and sex mecca, fear all of the Middle East, and so on and on. The media and the government is not a true reflection, of any culture, it is of the moment and a beast unchecked. We all scratch our heads at each other, throughout recent history, cry for each other, laugh at and with each other, and when natural disaster hits, support each other. Humankind is a mystery to humankind. No wonder PETA doesn't give a rat's az about humankind and its WMDs.
