Um nope
So the internet domain name registration might be called an US resource that still doesnt make the entire internet one.

I'm not from the US as you guessed. I'm dutch (thats The Netherlands).

The reason I was bashing the US is because it seems real popular these days to bash Europe. I know Irak hit a sensitive nerve when several european countries didn't want to participate but this is getting rediculous. Besides my country has troops in Irak so bashing Europe is a bit stupid.

Back to the topic. Since the internet is now a global force that is becomming part of almost every economy out there letting one country control what all the others can do is no longer acceptable. I'm not saying let the UN controll it becuase they cant. They would make a mess of it. I'd suggest setting up an international organisation where all countries are represented.

"Relinquish the Internet Domain Name Registration and overseeing rights to someone else, that most likely will not do as well of a job since they probably won't have the resources or capital to keep it maintained properly?"

What do you think Europe is? A third world country? It's pretty arrogant asuming the US is the only country that has the money and resources to pay for the maintenance.

It is not right to let one country hold this much control over a global resource (the internet)

The reason I was getting worked up in my other posts was that europe was getting bashed pretty severe. Claiming we dont produce anything of importance, we never invented anything usefull etc etc. Phillips used to be a dutch company and is a major player, so is shell ( combined UK and dutch company) There are plenty more examples like this. Chrysler seems to be doing ok since daimler (german) took it over.....ect etc. I'll stop bashing the US, as in general I've got nothing against the US, if you people would just let go of your arogance and stop pretending the US is the best thing that ever hapened to this world. It certainly isn't the worst as some of my fellow europeans woould say but it most definetively not the best thing either.
