Gee, what happened to the mantra of "globalization"?
The EU **DOES** have a point. And why not? The US corporate elite uses "globalization" to whittle away our own infrastructure while building up communist nations (isn't trading with the enemy illegal or something?) So why not this? Why the double-standard? I would love to see proper-cost domain names and the only way to do that is to incite competition. Which means opening it up, especially worldwide.

Why the hypocrisy?

I sure as hell don't trust the US government. But the UN is a group of lazy leeches too. Recent scandals (and greed) and basic indolence have ruled out the UN as a worthy entity too.

At any case, why should I care anymore? Everybody's more concerned about their desire for wealth and power than long-term prosperity or even survival of humanity. It's like something big and nasty is about to happen and everybody wants to shore up, shoving you into the fire first. And while this article has quotes about protecting the economy and other related gobbledygook, the actions I've seen and the results of them are doing quite the opposite; we are truly close to a crash the likes the world has never seen. And they know it; why else do a money grab as such?

Never mind "peak oil"...
