Headline Wrong/Ugh! Gov't Intervention Needed?
This is NOT a case of fragility. Level 3 purposely cut off Cogent. This was purposeful and not a case of the Internet breaking as the headline wants to imply.

Normally I would not advocate government intervention, but with VoIP telephony lives may now be at risk with this foolishness. If the FCC thinks it is so important for VoIP providers to get 911 acknowledgments from their customers or stop service to those customer, then should not the FCC step and tell these companies that they cannot arbitrarily cut off service. Their only recourse is to take their case to court and not to interrupt service.
