Ten minute patent, 10 year court case
"Jan Conlin, the attorney for IPXL, on Tuesday urged a three-judge panel at the U.S. Appeals Court for the Federal Circuit to overturn the lower court's decision"

This will no doubt end up as another 10 man years of work by very expensive lawyers to argue over the novelty of a back-of-the-napkin idea knocked up over lunch in ten minutes. And other IP lawyers and patent officers will argue that innovation requires lightweight patents like this.

Here, wouldn't it be nice if Google's calculator handled the density of basic ingredients.
e.g.
[1 tablespoon butter in grams]

I think its cute that I can get a value for e^(-i) but knowing the conversion from a cup of flour to ozs of flour is probably more useful.

Quick pop out and patent it, its a similar ten second, dream-up-a-quick-derivative-idea-thats-not-inventive no different from the rubbish patents the USA courts are clogged up with.
