MS still has 'em by the $$$
I agree....I should be able to buy a PC with NO OS. My friend just bought a Sony Vaio and could NOT get one without the OS. They all come pre-manufactured and setup for the end user to turn on and 'begin the OS install' from the hard drive. No CD's no DVD's, just on the hard drive and the end user has to make a 'system restore' disk on their own.

I can only hope that when the 'new' user market is saturated, the 'existing' user market will DEMAND the ability to do as they wish or no new PC purchases will happen.

Time for the newbie market to dry up!
