Here are the facts
Netscape allows use of ActiveX on certain sites it thinks are "trustfull". I must say that accepting ActiveX on the other sites is really craziness, as it is 90% a virus.

I am using Firefox without ActiveX for years now, and I really can't remember when was the last time I regreted that it was not able to do ActiveX thing. Actually, I was very happy with that, as I had no virus, trojan, etc. infection yet and most people with IE had.
