It's a 'feature' of the new social & political landscape; it's only wrong if you get caught, and it only costs you money if you lose in court.

Yahoo made a gamble - pay the large up-front cost of buying the target company, or pay a much smaller fraction of that to just buy the knowledge in the engineers. Then, you only have to pay the remaining up-front cost if you get caught.

It's a sad commentary on today's lack of ethics in society and business. w00t! GOP in 2008!! 4 more beers and pork!
