Scientific truth is not so flexible

Sorry, no. Some things are true, and some things aren't. Just
because you want things to work one particular way doesn't
mean that this way should be accepted as truth. Science is a
means of trying to best determine what is actually true, of
seeing what the evidence tells us. It is never something that is
permanently set in stone, as our knowledge (pardon the pun)
evolves over time. But it is certainly the best method we have
for understanding the universe. Ignoring the evidence and
presenting non-factual arguments is essentially sticking your
head in the sand.

You have that right, but do you have the time? If you're really
going to read "all conflicting viewpoints" on every issue, you're
in trouble. Do you really think we should be teaching classes to
students that show "all conflicting viewpoints"? Does that mean
we teach them that the earth is flat and the sun revolves around
it? That the moon landing was fake? And you'll need several
years to teach them every single creation myth that was ever
used by mankind.
