Too complex to place blame ...
All of the above posts are bickering about what caused this, who's to blame, where should we point the finger ... not one has any CONSTRUCTIVE criticism.

Unfortunately, the underpinnings of the issues that caused 9/11 are extremely vast, going back a lot further than any of us have been alive. Do not forget the simple fact that 9/11 was attempted because of religion (as have most acts of violence of this scale). It was succesful because of COUNTLESS issues. It cannot, and should not be wittled down to a few events in recent history.

The lives lost on 9/11 are not trivial, no life lost is, however, who's to say the legislations that WERE put in HAVEN'T saved more live than those lost on 9/11. We don't know that, there IS no way of knowing. I'm no fan of government, especially the current US Government, however, as a people, we voted our respective governments in (I'm Canadian), and we have to believe, and trust that what they are doing for us is right - we also have to pay attention to what they are doing, and speak up when we think they are doing wrong, WHEN they are doing wrong - not 20 years after the fact.

The people of 9/11 died in what I believe to be a sensless act. Please do not belittle their deaths by bickering, casting blame. or using them as martyrs. Honour them, and respect them. They were victims.

As always, just my opinion, take it or leave it.
