The problem for Microsoft, OpenOffice is open source. They can't just buy
OpenOffice out. And, I doubt that Microsoft would have any luck buying out Google. Googles market value is approaching 100 Billion, and it would be worth zero after being taken over by Microsoft. The value of Google is all about trust. I Also doubt a merger would ever be approved. Also think of all the embarassment of Microsoft trying to replace the Linux servers.

Oh, and how many features do customers need in a word processor?? MS Office is already too bloated.
