Yes, I think Google is almost surely going to make money off of this. When all is said and done, I think booksellers and publishers are going to find Google has created one of the best marketing vehicles ever.

How much do you think Amazon (or someone like Amazon) will pay-per-click for referalls from Google?

I also think this will be a huge benefit to used booksellers and small publishers that lack marketing budgets.

I think that's what the big publishers object to. Today, you need publicity to sell a lot of copies of a book. Publicity costs money. Tomorrow, all you'll need is for your book to contain good information relevant to the consumers search.
