Anton, the primary reasons why people don't want to shift to the alternative browsers are ignorance, incompatibility of some Web sites (our University website is optimized for Firefox and IE, but not for Opera), and the sheer lack of motivation of most users to learn a better software.

Aside from the use of the word "better", you give no reason to switch, other than the browser has not changed for some time.

If a browser meets one's needs, what does it matter how long between major changes? Works today, will work tomorrow.

You do mention some features that are not in IE, but as you know those features are available from plug-ins.

Change for the sake of change is to me equivalent to change from boredom.
