Maxthon
Hi, old_navy.

You might add Maxthon 1.3.3 to your list of browsers to try. It is an IE clone that has tabs, loads faster than either Opera 8 or Firefox 1.0.6, and it is much easier to use.

As I see it, the problem is that Maxthon is still IE, just in another GUI.

I have tried IE 7 beta, and it seems to be more of the same. Other than the tabs (which, admittedly, are a great improvement over the previous, tabless versions), and the long-overdue pop-up blocking, there doesn't seem to be much new there. If you compare it to either Firefox or Opera, IE is little more than a joke, and not a very good one. Their current market success is due entirely to piggy-backing on Windows, but as Firefox gains more press, that will ebb somewhat. I don't think IE will ever be overtaken by Firefox or Opera, because more people will always go with what they already have than to go and get something different, but I think the more press Firefox gets, and the more people have fast connections, the easier it will be for people to make the switch when they get curious.
