You take far too much for granted, Don
Right now, today, and according to their published plans for the future, Microsoft is an OS and application software company. They're so widespread that any other prominent technology company can't help but bump into them in one mraket or another. Google, however, specializes in ad delivery. Any speculation on how these companies will compete in the future is just that, speculation.

Or do you have some supporting evidence that no one else is privy to?
