If he was so important to MS,
how could they let him go without a fight?
Wouldn't you want him to stay.
If he set up a research center in China for Apple,
and then worked for Microsoft, I'm at a loss for what the problem with him doing this for Google.

I'm not happy how Google recruited him, but I really can't see how this is a conflict against MS.
