Yahoo IM users get more than they bargained for

Very Disappointing

This is the nail in the coffin for my use of Yahoo. They used to be a user-friendly forum and website. Now, it's becoming a cluttered, unusable, force-fed, poor cousin of AOL.

I don't want any single company trying to dominate how I use, search, or read the web. This will be Google in 5 years if not less.

When I had SBCGlobal DSL, there was an option to install the Yahoo search bar. I didn't want it, so unchecked the box. It got installed anyway. In fact SBCGlobal has it's own cheesy branded browser that automatically installs - you don't even get the option to not install it. Crap like that just irritates me.

IMHO, trying to become a "destination" web portal is like McDonald's being a destination restaurant. McDonald's is about fast food - not about an experience. (Even though that's what they want people to feel.) Same with browsing - being able to connect is what's important. Not having a "destination experience".
