FCC extends E911 deadline for VoIP users

E911 Deadline

Not only are VoIP being cut off, but if you have "On Star" in your vehicle as of January 2006, and your vehicle is under a 2003 model then your "On Star" system will no longer work nor will you be able to up grade your present "On Star" system to be able to meet the FCC requirements. As a retired police officer I strongly believe in the E911 system, but I have problems with the way people are being forcefully disconnected because of an FCC ruling that does not take into consideration the older vehicles.
In writting to the FCC their attitude was "oh, well."
