P10 is suing the wrong people - ugh.

First of all - like you said, bots can only go through directories open to the public. Any directories that are accessable to "members only" should be password protected and therefore not accessable by a bot. If they're not, they have the slopiest webmasters ever.

Second - Google only hosts thumbnails. Tiny versions of the original images, this is pretty much free advertising for Perfect 10. As someone else pointed out, are we going to start suing google for caching pieces of news stories? That's ridiculous.

Thrid - Perfect 10 needs to be chasing down the owners of the sites distributing the illegal content. Blaming Google for linking to a site showing your copyrighted material is like suing a guy for telling you where you can get a designer knock-off. Go find the person making the knock-offs... eesh. lazy people at Perfect 10.
