AOL agrees to customer service reform

Act of God = Canceling AOL service.

I recently bought my nephew a computer. Unsure of what ISP I would put him with I opted to utilize the free AOL service during the free trial that came with the computer. The "free" trial was for 90 days. I shopped around and for his use a simple dial up connection would work fine. He is disabled and just wanted email and chat rooms. After less than two months (about 45 days) I elected to put him with People's PC and only $9.99 per month (which he pays with his disability). I had to use my credit card to log into AOL. This all happened back in July of 2005. AOL started billing my credit card in September at $23.00 per month and has continued to do so every month since. I have called like three times, emailed many times and nothing. I called my credit card company and they say
AOL has to issue the cancellation and credit. It has been a total nightmare. How in the world can they be allowed to do this? I personally would not have AOL if they gave it to me for free.....they are criminals. My last credit card statement still has the charge. We are talking now about a bill equaling almost $150.00. My husband and I are retired on a limited income and this has really hurt us and continues. What can I do but move to New York where those folks finally had ENOUGH?
