Because you don't know if $300 oil will ever arrive
That's too big a gamble. Right now they are making billions at current oil prices. Also all the big Oil companies have huge investments in alternative energy ready in the wings. It's competition that keeps them pumping like mad right now. Not one country or corporation can afford to not pump right now. In the corporate sense not pumping would cause a negative stock market hit. Corporation only think short term when it comes to profits they can gain now. A country that hoards thier oil would risk invasion from someone, right now that someone they fear would be the US.
