Show me the oil, not the rhetoric

"Here in the US, we have a policy (thanks to our friends the Democrats) of not exploring for new oil."

1. USA oil peaked in 1970 and there's been several republican leaders since then. Why wasn't oil looked for then?
2. That doesn't explain why oil discoveries fall way behind decline in reserves in the rest of the world.

Don't personalise it. *I* don't predict the future, I point you to the curve thats playing out perfectly.

Show me the oil. Opec is pumping at peak, other non Opec fields are always pumped at peak, so where is the oil to delay the peak 20-30 years going to come from? USA National parks? Iraq perhaps? Yet Iraq's oil wasn't enough to pay for its reconstruction!
