Not trying to be cute.
"More to the point, where is all this undiscovered oil? I mean its cute to pretend that they'll find more oil, and that will delay the inevitable, but they keep looking and don't find it."

Here in the US, we have a policy (thanks to our friends the Democrats) of not exploring for new oil. As Jeff Spicolli said the other day "They are only against domestic production". A funny thing happens when you stop looking for oil; you don't find any!

US fields not withstanding, political instability keeps much of the known world fields inactive (Angola, etc), so improvements there would bring a great deal of oil online.

Either way, I won't claim to predict the future, because it is an excellent way to look the fool. Assuming you are correct, and western civilization is on the brink of disaster, what is your solution? You seem to view impending global misery with relish.

Aside from using the technology of the internet to avoid the need to move people to and from work every day, the only viable solution I can see for the near term is to get cracking building lots of nuclear reactors if your prediction is correct. While I love the idea of wind and especially solar or tidal power, these technologies don't have any real promise to produce our energy needs for quite some time.

On the bright side, assuming you are correct on global peak oil even within 20 or 30 years, that means all of the global warming alarmists can stop worrying. Their predictions assume oil consumption continues to grow at current rates for the next 100 years.
