Working from home
Working from home strikes me as the best opportunity we have today as a nation to dramatically reduce oil consumption. However, since it lacks the snob appeal of telling others to ride a bycycle, buy "the right" car, or spend several hours of quality time with drug addicts, felons, the insane, etc (they call it "Rapid Transit" in my city), it doesn't seem to be something activists are interested in. Have you considered suggesting in your letters a "national work from home policy" that would encourage employers to allow employees to work from home as much as possible?

I don't have 5 cars, so I'm not helping the environment as much as you are by cutting back wink , but I've been working from home now for about 3 months. This has cut our gas usage by about 75%, without putting any crimp on our lifestyle. If even 20% of americans who currently commute were to switch to working from home, our current gas "crisis" would go away immediately.

If something doesn't happen soon, I fear these higher prices will kill our already shaky recovery and put us back in recession.
