There are some issues that you're not touching upon. Pornography is fine and it is the right of every human to consume or not consume it. But it is upsetting to many people, even those in Russia and the Netherlands. Also, human sexuality is something that is grown into. So a parent (anywhere) may want to avoid their child accidentally seeing, oh for example, two leather clad men hovering over a naked woman suspended by bungee cords over a prostrate horse, before the child has reached an age when such things can be understood.

While I can't claim to know the specifics of browser software, it is my impression that it would be very easily to have a browser block all .xxx sites or to have a browser that won't display them at all.

Current filtering software is a joke and this may work better. Of course, we all know that there will be porn to be had outside of the .xxx domain, but this might at least be better than the current path.
