How much further WRONG can you go
"Customers want a modular OS so they can mix and match as desired."

No they don't.

Excluding corporate and tech heads, the basic peecee abuser (which comprise the grteatest sales of peecees) wants something out of the box that works. Go spend a couple hours at your favorite Bestbuy and watch the expressions of the potential peecee buyer once the sales person goes beyond the price in description and the "Oh this computer will do what you want."

TAHDAHHHHHH Car Analogy Time!!!!!
Most consumers will ask if the machine is capable to do what they want out of the box. That tells me they have no idea about modular or whatever. In fact most peeecee abusers buy their personal confuser like they would a car. They kick the tires and then buy it. Very seldom does anyone ask, "well does it come with michelins or goodyears, can I take it home and install a blaupunkt and remove that bose system. Can I swap the halogen head lamps with quartz?"

C'mon most peecee buyers buy peeecees like a bucket of chicken, they get and go. Me thinks you read your own buying habits into the rest of the consumers world. No Bueno Amigo.
