Oh, so all customers are stupid?? The smart ones don't matter??
There are a lot of smart customers out there, including corporate customers that would like modular components so they could remove things they don't use. Think of all the corporations appying patches for Window Media Player that don't even use it.

Also, even for a typical home customer, they would rather have less features and more security. They understand very well the effects of spyware and viruses. That can cost them lots of money to have them removed. They just want to browse the web, send email, and do simple documents, and they get all this complexity, viruses, and spyware.
