The organs do have purpose
Take the gall bladder for instance. It aids in digestion of fatty foods. Missing it isn't critical as it won't kill to digest a less efficiently. A simplified view of the gall badder is that it's a place where the liver stores extra bile for those occasions when you need more than the liver can deliver at one time.

Tonsels aid in preventing infection. It's not a uselss organ but you can live happily with out it.

Appendix well that one biologists are still up in the air about. We know you can live with out it but does it actually have useful purpose?

Also I think a lot of the problems the body has todday is not based on bad design but more on abuse. It's kind of like running a PC in cement plant. The evironment alone will clog up all those fans. I remember back in the days of 286 we'd remove the fans as 286 were cool enough if the room was cool. Hmmm, kind of like removing that der appendix.
