Well to be fair to my good buddy Carl I must say that
a famous person once said something to the effect of "I don't
care how many facts and figures you give me about a given
subject...what is important to me is how I FEEL about that
subject" and I think to one degree or another we are guilty of
this. If we are given information that conflicts with our ideal and
feelings it is NATURAL to look for ways to discredit that
information or some would even simply choose to ignore it. I'm
saying that is true for me and I would hazard a guess that is true
of us all.

I would LOVE to believe that people are too good to do some of
the things that I suspect they have done and are currently doing
but HISTORY and the actions of mankind over the centuries
show that man is capable of increadible evil against his own, and
when he begins to think that others are not his own man can
bee even worse still. So while I would love to beleive that we
have learned and are better than those of the past....In reality I
know better.
