Assuming you're not going to read the whole book on your
computer screen and will print some of it out, add in the cost of
paper and ink (given most inkjet printer cartridges, this is not a
trivial amount). Then again, you could print out one copy, then
buy a bulk copy card and make Xeroxes for everyone in the
class....

Using your numbers, if you can sell your used textbook for more
than $50, you'd be an idiot to go for the electronic one.

Personally, I've continued to use my textbooks from college
through graduate school, and as occasional references in my
career. So I'm glad I hung on to them and wasn't even offered
this quick expiring access scam.

And as others have pointed out below, who has more time to sit
around cracking DRM than college students? Expect this one to
be toast momentarily.
