The beauty of it is
that unlike paper copies, the students don't own their books, they "license" them. That means that textbooks and references can become an ongoing revenue stream instead of a one-time purchase that sits on student shelves forever.

One of my old physics texts (Fermi's Thermodynamics) that was old when I had the class thirty-plus years ago was used by one of my kids for a recent class. With appropriate DRM, that need never happen again.
