I gotta agree with Itan...( just this once)
AOL is a virus in itself taking over your PC and downloading anything it wants to suposedly improve the service, in reality AOL makes unessessary changes to the way your PC operates. Writes changes to the registry it shouldnt be doing to begin with. Try removing AOL from your PC and suddenly your PC stops operating or you start getting Error Hell which forces the user to reformat thier hard drive to stop the problems.

AOL is also the most hacked ISP. Any kid with limited knowelege of PC's can hack into AOL, steal passwords and take over any account. Just check Dshield.org and look for IP addresses beginning with 172. those are AOL IP's. AOL software is the most vulnerable to worms, trojans and virii and AOL users do not help matters not taking the time to at least put a anti virus on thier computers. AOL is also the most SPAMMED ISP!

You ask how I know this... I used AOL for 5 years and even with a firewall and AV AOL was still vulnerable to hacks, viruses and what ever any hacker or virus writer could throw at it. Getting rid of AOL was best thing I ever did and I never looked back.

So, just this once I'm going to agree with Itan but, I think he didnt go far enough in explaining what kind of CRAP AOL is.
