As for URL according to my post about the "Kahuna" name it is strictly invitation from Micorsoft only. I don't think there are any invites ala Gmail.
I started looking for the URL also cause right now I'm not too happy with GMAIL. Slow loading and Google's snooping has really soured me on gmail. Figured if Hotmail does the 2 gig bit for free I might give them a swing. Yahoo has become a bigger spam bucket than AOL. From what I read about the new hotmail some of the features look really interesting.
