Shutterfly offers Web space to customers

90% of these photo sites are junk!

Most of these sites are bad for people who want to share photos online for one central reason....that company holds your photos hostage!

My father-in-law recently got a message from Ofoto saying to get all his photos off their servers as they were cleaning off the hard drives! WOW...thats a horrible business model! HE doesnt know the difference between his computer and Ofotos software that sends his photos "magically" up to their servers at the click of a button, so is confused by all this...and now lost his ability to save and share his photos. The same with Shutterfly....its a bad software design and business model period!

What people need to do is ENABLE people with digital photo on their own sites by building web site code that allows them to add photos to their OWN web sites and domains...not something someone else manages for them. People also want to integrate their photos with their own site designs, and then with other info so their family can see it without arm-twisting to buy prints or read advertisements. In addition, people now have 100 different logins to remember, credit cards floating around, advertisements bombarding them on these services, then are pressured to purchase add-ons for huge amounts by these services online.

Why have your have your photos sit captive on someone elses servers and constrained by someones service and proprietary software. Thats a mess!. People need "media freedom". hey need their own sites and the web site code to customize it as they want.
