I think renting music ...
Sounds like a good idea to me. Instead of having to sit and click on 30-second previews of songs on Napster/iTunes, I could copy entire albums to a portable device and then listen to them in my car. And if I decide I want to own some of these songs, I will then of course buy a non-Napster/iTunes DRM-less version. That's right, kids - just because you rent music doesn't mean you can't buy it. The way I see it, Napster and other rental music services is to music what Netflix is to movies. Even if you subscribe to Netflix, that doesn't automatically disqualify you from buying movies you really like. If anything, it prevents you from having to buy movies you haven't seen, only to find out they're not any good. Of course, you can argue that music is too 'sacred' to ever be rented, and you can go on buying many crappy CDs too happy
