Misdirection
I'm not arguing the relative merits of intellectual property versus findamental rights; it would be foolish to do so, as there is no comparison. I'm arguing the seeming hypocrisy in cheering on the Chinese government when its target is Microsoft (in the form of IP, which some people seem to think only Microsoft owns), then suddenly remembering that China is repressive when it works with Microsoft. Although, to be honest, more criticism is heaped on Microsoft itself for dealing with a totalitarian government than is aimed at the totalitarian government itself.
