Do you know that?
How do you know that the poster never has created a thing?

But seriously respect for copyright are gone or going. There used to be a balance. Copyright are not for the creator only but to strike a balance. Copyrights are not needed to make money they are needed to get the creations out to the public and create rich public domain.

For example. Lets assume no copyrights and that I'm writer. I write novel but I don't ever distribute while I do let my short stories go freely. A rich patron purchases my novel for thier private collection and charge a very high price for that. That's how it used to be before copyrights. This caused a problem of the many creation just getting lost.

So change the business model and enter copyrights that allow the writer to sell copies of the work for less with a limited time monopoly.

Next that monopoly gets extended and works get locked up and lost in vaults as the generations pass before the copyright expires. Some survive others don't.

So we've come full circle in my opinion.

PS: I do create, I write software. Still that does color my perception as software only has very limited useful life so copyright length really doesn't matter to me. 90 years after my death I doubt people will be using my software.
