What nation capable of defending itself is going to let another or a group of nations bully it without retaliation? The United States of America has been a player on the world stage since the Spanish-American war of 1898. In too many places to count we have interceeded at the behest of the UN an d our allies, our detractors are many but I rarely see them step up to the challenge of making the world a better place. The UN needs to dissapear a great but failed experiment. It has devolved into a debating society with no military or moral clout. When it needs bailed out who does it turn to? The US. While my country may not be perfect, I still would not choose to live elsewhere. For those that think the U.S. is just a bullying nation, I would remind them of the terrible strength that she possess and the restraint shown thus far. And as far as your last statement, I would only point to histories lessons about abrogated treaties.
